Google Pay is one of the most widely used UPI based payment apps in India. The app allows users to send and receive money directly through their linked bank account using the phone number of the UPI address.
In addition, the app also allows users to check balance, pay commodity bills, recharge their phone number, pay postpaid and broadband bills, and more.
However, if you don’t want to use the service and are looking for a way to delete the Google Pay account permanently, follow our step-by-step guide:
Tap the profile picture in the top right corner
Now tap on Bank account option and then tap on the account
Tap the three dots in the top right corner and choose Delete Account option
Repeat the same for other accounts linked to Google Pay
When you’re done, go back and tap Settings → Sign Out
After you tap the Sign Out button, Google Pay will show you a pop-up message “Sign out of your account? You will need to reactivate your UPI accounts when you restart the app.
Note that Google Pay used to offer a special account closing option. However, with recent updates, it looks like the tech giant has removed it.
